Brew Days and More
Second Saturday Brew Day
A hands-on brew day for anyone interested in making better beer. We usually build a recipe, talk process, brew on the system, discuss water chemistry, fermentation, packaging, and taste whatever is on tap.
Bring: curiosity, questions, a notebook, and any homebrew you want feedback on.
Experience needed: none.
Location: Bastrop area — contact us for details.
Every brew day is part workshop, part hangout, and part controlled chaos. The goal is simple: brew better, learn something, and enjoy the process.
The day starts early. Maybe too early.

Canning Day
Not all cans and fills are created equal.
Canning Day is the part of the process where finished beer gets packaged, sealed, labeled, judged, questioned, and occasionally sacrificed for immediate quality control.
At BGSC Brewing, we package beer into cans so it can be shared, stored, transported, and enjoyed properly. But homebrew canning is still a hands-on process. Every once in a while, a can does not seal the way it should. Maybe the seam is questionable. Maybe the fill level is off. Maybe the can looks suspicious enough that it should not be trusted with long-term storage.
Those cans do not go to waste.
They become the official responsibility of anyone standing nearby.
Canning Day is part packaging session, part quality check, and part social obligation. We inspect seams, check fills, talk through the process, taste the beer, and make sure the questionable cans are handled the only responsible way:
They get opened and drank immediately.
No heroes. No waste. No compromised cans left behind.
Short Website Version
Canning Day is where finished beer gets packaged, inspected, and prepared for sharing. We fill cans, check seams, label the good ones, and deal with the questionable ones the proper way — by drinking them immediately.
Not every can seals perfectly, and not every fill is worth saving. When that happens, we need willing volunteers for immediate quality control.
Bring curiosity, steady hands, and a responsible thirst.
I need help. Waste not brew not.
Seriously.
